New Facebook Live series explores benefits of dual credit in District 214
A new Facebook Live Series will give parents the opportunity to ask questions about dual credit classes in District 214.
The four-part series, which kicks off Wednesday, April 3, will delve into dual credit, starting with an explanation of this early college credit opportunity and how these courses benefits students.
Dual credit courses are rigorous, college-level classes that allow high school students to earn college credits while completing high school graduation requirements. District 214 offers more than 80 dual credit courses through partnerships with several colleges and universities.
The live series will be held on District 214’s Facebook page on the following dates:

Topic: Common Misconceptions Around Dual Credit
Wednesday, April 17 at 12:30 p.m.
Topic: How to Enroll in Dual Credit Classes

Topic: Dual Credit Options for Enrolled Students
The series will also feature District 214 educators who will share their experiences around dual credit, including Buffalo Grove business teacher Karen Roberts, John Hersey counselor Brigette Muck and Prospect world religions teacher John Camardella.
Elk Grove senior Samantha Pelaez and Prospect senior Emmett Knee will also join the series to discuss why they enrolled in dual credit classes and how these courses have shaped their next steps.
