About 40 students across the District have signed up for introductory Career Pathway classes during the summer.

This is the first time pathway courses have been offered in the summer months. The goal is to add flexibility to students’ class schedules and give them more opportunities to engage with Career Pathways classes for the first time.

District 214 was honored this month with a national District of Distinction award by District Administration magazine for its Youth Apprenticeship program.

The program was developed to provide concrete job skills and training to students who know what careers they want to pursue by their junior year of high school.

From joining co-curriculars to interning at local elementary schools and taking early college credit classes, Samantha Pelaez has taken advantage of every opportunity that has come her way at Elk Grove High School.

Twenty-five years ago, Dr. Stephen Berry retired from the helm of District 214. But even in retirement, Berry returns to the District every year to recognize students and all they have accomplished.

High School District 214 is the recipient of the American Association of School Librarians’ 2019 National School Library of the Year Award. The District 214 library team is at the forefront of integrating technology into the curriculum.

Elk Grove senior Radek Lucarz has a clear idea of his next steps thanks to two engineering internships and District 214’s Aviation Academy. He plans to pursue a career in aerospace engineering.

A new Facebook Live Series will give parents the opportunity to ask questions about dual credit classes in District 214.

The four-part series, which begins in April, will delve into dual credit, starting with an explanation of this early college credit opportunity and how these courses benefits students.
